CIERRA™ is a functional materials platform co-developed between SCG Chemicals (SCGC) and the University of Oxford. The material’s unique chemistry and morphology make it the ideal performance additive for many applications. Three commercial functional material products deriving from this platform technology are: CIERRA™ Barrier, CIERRA™ Flame Retardant and CIERRA™ CO2 Capture.
SENFI UK is working with breakthrough polymer technologies in partnership with the University of Oxford and SCGC. Our efficient catalysts are enabling the production of unique polymers with a diverse range of properties and applications, from packaging materials and rubbers to high-performance fibres, films, and biomedical components. The unmatched ability of our catalysts to incorporate comonomers into high molecular weight polymers enables great flexibility and granular control over the structure and properties of the polymers that we can produce from a single process. In many cases this eliminates the need for more complex polymer chemistries which pose processing and compatibility challenges. An emphasis on sustainability motivates our development of highly recyclable drop-in replacements for more conventional materials, as well as tackling the plastic waste problem through enhanced end-of-life and boosting the properties and value of recycled plastic in a circular economy.
